If there is anyone crazy enough to still be using 2k (or knows someone 
that is), I would appreciate it if they could test this. Timing is quite 
a sensitive issue and whilst I whole-heartedly approve of this patch, I 
wouldn't want it to cause a backward step if we can help it.
